Yes, it is true. In the rather sleepy and idyllic village of Flúðir in the South of Iceland which is notable by being the the mushroom growing capital of Iceland you can get a real taste of Ethiopia.
Try the delicious small restaurant called Minilik. It is run by an Icelandic guy and his wife from Ethiopia who is also the chef. Although I managed to make of mess of things as the food is eaten by picking it up by bread it is a rather welcome break from the standard roadside fare of hamburgers and hot dogs.
How to get there?
Drive to the town of Flúðir. The resturant is on road nr. 30 (see picture of resturant and map below).
